The dominant paradigm in robotics learning is behavioral cloning: train models to imitate expert demonstrations. This works. Robots learn to perform tasks.

But imitation has a ceiling. It captures what experts do, not why they do it. It replicates the actions without capturing the reasoning — the operational judgment that makes those actions efficient.

The idea behind Mimicus Robotics is that reasoning post-training may help models evaluate task execution before acting: what matters most, what can be deferred, and how to move with less waste.
